Weekend Work
This was a good weekend to stay indoors and get some stitching done, so I was finally able to finish the sampler I started a couple of months ago.

I used to do a lot of samplers but have never done one with all the little motifs like this one. It was kind of fun. On our recent trip to Indiana I found a wonderful old frame at an antique mall that might work for this--what do you think? I need to do a little more ironing and stretching, but wanted to get an idea of how this would fit the frame. At first I thought it might be too big but maybe not? Hmmm...
I'll have to live with it a few days and see what I think. I really love the frame and think the color works well with the threads.
Foxy's preferred method dealing with the heat involves lounging around indoors in air conditioned comfort, grooming herself and napping. Come to think of it, that's pretty much her routine every day. Hope you're keeping cool and enjoying the summer!

I not sure if it the photo but the frame does look big for the sampler. What a great find though. Was it hard to stitch on that fabric? did you have to count over 2 threads. I have done cross stitch on a canvas time of material but would like to try the linen. As for beating the heat...the photo is a hoot!
Good morning, Love the sampler. I have never done cross stitch and want so bad to learn. Love all the pillow tucks and samplers out that are to choose from. Great job. As for the frame, look at it a while and if you like it and are satisfied,,,that's al that matters. Have a great day.

Oh Roberta ... I love the sampler! It is gorgeous! May I ask where you got the pattern? Blessings, Shirlee
A beautiful sampler, Roberta! As you say, the color of the frame and the threads work so nicely together!
Brenda's patterns are my favorite!
Have a great day!

Your sampler is gorgeous, Roberta!! I've not met too many of Brenda's designs that I don't absolutely adore, tho. I love the frame - color/tone/feel are spot on for the sampler if you ask me. I have, however, never framed my own cross-stitch pieces, so I don't know if it "works" given the size of your backing - but if there's enough fabric for stretching and mounting, etc., I think the size is fine!!! Foxy's an absolute doll!!! Oh my heck!!! Can't stand how she is sitting there!!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Hi Roberta,
Catching up on your adventures.
Love your posts of the last few times.
Have been busy with summer.
Love your sampler! It is fantastic.
We hung your wonderful rug on our wall and we have had so many compliments on it. Your work is just fabulous!!
Enjoy your weekend!

Love the sampler you made. Lots and lots of love and time went into that. The frame and the colors in the sampler match perfectly.
Your cat, so very sweet. My cats just lounge around on these hot days and lay belly up, while the fan is on them. They have it all figured out.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Tonya
