A True Hero

This is off topic from my usual postings, but this week a memorial service for one of the Navy Seals killed recently in Afghanistan was held at the church. Three of the men killed in the crash were from our area. One was only 21 years old, the same age as my younger son. I take so many things for granted, especially the freedom we enjoy here. I can't say how grateful I am to those who serve in the military and their families for their sacrifices. The Bible verse on the cover below is John 15:13: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

Hi Roberta,
I just got a call for my 11 y.o. Boy Scout to stand in a 3 mile long honor guard for the Navy Seal that was from our area who was killed. My son will be in his Scout uniorm and my husband will be in his Air Force Military Uniform to honor the fallen soldier on Monday. They truly are Heros and my heart just aches and goes out to the families. So sorry to hear that three of them were from your area. I just hope this all ends soon.

We need to pray and thank God daily for our service men & women, and our Veterans. They ensure our ability to live in this great land. Praying for all the families.

How truly sad for such wonderful and brave souls to be taken so soon. My heart cries for their families - but such pride they must have. Truly - no greater love is there than that...My sympathies and prayers for comfort for the families and your community....Hugs ~ Robin

It is so very sad when any of our brave young men/women die fighting for our country....it must be doubly hard on a community to lose so many promising young men.
I salute those families who have given so much...God bless them all and comfort them in their grief.
Hugs & Blessings Roberta
