Giveaway at Cottonwood Lane Primitives

One of the reasons I began blogging was to connect with others who enjoy crafting. I enjoy being part of a creative community and really enjoy getting to know and being inspired by other crafters. What do you like to see or read on blogs? Do you like to get decorating or gardening ideas, see finished projects, learn new techniques...? Help me be a better blogger by leaving me a comment and letting me know what attracts you to a blog. If you enjoy seeing fancy, decorated cookies, you'll probably never see that here, but I do want this to be readable and worthwhile, so please give me your thoughts.
Celebrate! Penny Rug
The Giveaway: I'll give away this penny rug when I reach the magic number of 100 followers. This is a Maggie Bononomi design and I thought the little stitched "Celebrate!" banner made it appropriate for this giveaway.

The Rules:  You'll be entered in the giveaway if you leave me a comment. Two entries if you comment and become (or already are) a follower. Three entries if you post about my giveaway on your blog. Please let me know so I'll give you credit for that.

I dearly love the Maggie Bonanomi penny rug and would cherish it forever. Maybe it would inspire me to get out my wool and find a great pattern to applique.
The blogs I like best are the ones that don't wait weeks between postings. I love to see what the person is working on and I really appreciate tutorials.
I'm not into gardening but do love to see the beautiful gardens, animals and nature.
I don't have a blog - no time since I spend way too much time reading other people's blogs!

I have enjoyed getting to know through blogging new friends. Your penny rug is adorable....I've learned that a giveaway attracts many bloggers because they hope to win something...most never return. I wish you luck. I've got over 700 something followers likely from giveaways. LOL

I am a new follower. I just found your blog today. I will enjoy looking around.

I enjoy reading blogs to get inspiration for projects and just to see what is out there. Bloggers inspire me with their eye candy and new projects that they find.

I like to see new techniques, but I also like to see what bloggers are working on. Sometimes just looking at someone's cross stitching is enough to get the creative juices flowing. Gardening photos and recipes are also enjoyable. Your penny rug is very sweet, I hope you get to 100 followers soon.

I'm now a follower of your blog.

What a lovely little penny rug! I love reading lots of blogs to get inspired to try new things. Stitching with wool is something I've never tried, but I do love seeing what other people do!

Hi Roberta! First of all, your blog is beautifully laid out. Secondly, it is really nice that you are looking for feedback on what people like to read on blogs. For me, I really enjoy large, in-focus photos with a description of what I'm looking at. I am overwhelmed by posts that are pages of text - for me it's all about the eye candy! I like a great recipe, tips on new notions or tools that people find useful, recommendations for online shops with good customer service, some fun personal stories (to make a personal connection, not to be nosy). I am a quilter mostly, but I love working with wool in small art pieces and also primitive applique - here's a post on one wool project I did last year http://poppyprintcreates.blogspot.com/2011/05/bloggers-quilt-festival-spring-2011.html
Good luck with reaching 100!!

Roberta,
Your penny rug is beautiful! I love prim quilts and wool. Love Sweet Pea's blog which is how I found you today and became a follower. Jan Patek is one of my favorite designers. I just love the bigger applique designs, easier to applique, laid back style.

I'm sure you will hit 100 soon!

Your blog is beautiful just the way it is. The only suggestion I have is to maybe make the print one size bigger. It is awfully small to read when my eyes are already strained from stitching :)

This is be-u-ti-ful and I'd love to win. I like a blog to be rounded, some sewing, a little bit of personal life, not too much solid writing or too many photos. Just a nice amount for a little read. I hate it when a blog is really just an ad or promo for a store. Thanks for a chance to win.

Hi, I would love to follow your blog ,but it is somehow messed up. It is dark with white lettering in some places and you can't read it and then it goes to brown background with black writing. I won't give up I will try later. Teri

Second time I'm trying to do this today. Didn't work last time. I am a follower and I am going to mention your giveaway on my blog if I can get it to work. Your site is lovely and I think it's great that you are researching what followers want in a blog. I'm not fussy about recipes but enjoy hearing a bit about bloggers with some project stuff in various stages of development, free stuff of course, how to's or tips are always welcome as well. Good luck with your blog. Vicki Boschman vboschman@gmail.com vickibquilts.com

I would love to win the Penny rug especially because Celebrate is my special word! How appropriate! I love primitives but mostly decorate with country style. I like to read blogs with colorful pictures whether of flower gardens or quilting progress and with easily readable posts Thanks for the chance. I came over via Stray Stitches.
