Two things I love are old primitive wood pieces and fake vegetables. I guess they represent the fullness of summer and a feeling of a bountiful harvest. My fake veggies will likely be the only bountiful harvest I have this year! Our recent and continuing excessive heat wave and vine borers (what nasty little things those are!) have really taken a toll on my little vegetable patch. I don't know if I'll even be able to harvest zucchini and you know how prolific those can be! In the spring I have all kinds of carrots and soon it will be time for the pumpkins to make their appearance but in the meantime, I'm enjoying my cabbages, beets and radishes!
Cute veggies~ I am like you~ love the fake one's so cute to sit around the home~ My garden is doing so-so~ we have zucchini, green beans, and tomatoes, starting picking last week, but it has been weird here~ Hot~ Rain~ but it gets too hot~ so the crops aren't as usual~ Hope you get some cooler temps~ smiles Teresa
love the veggies..our garden has suffered from the heat too but our summer squash was harvested before the heat came in..still have tomatoes and corn.....poor plants look a little ill though...and too many weeds..who wants to weed in heat? not this girl, that's for sure.
Disappointing, yes. The heat index is 106 today! I believe there are times when we just "must' let our expectations go, such as with the garden this year. At those times, just be focused, on what we do have. You have that in your lovely vegetables. I love your photos, thanks for the view!
Hi Roberta, I just love those Bethany Lowe veggies too! We sell them at the shop where I work and I just did a window display using them with some wonderful veggie plates and they look so good together!! I also love your tomato! Love those Maggie patterns and LOVE cotton velvet, vintage velvet, ANY velvet!! Hope you can stay cool and thanks for the lovely pictures!! Blessings~~
Sorry to hear your outdoor garden isn't doing so well, but your indoor one is thriving!! Those veggies are AWESOME!! That cabbage almost looks real! And I haven't met a velveteen veggie I haven't loved! (Probably would even like brussel sprouts if they came in velveteen!) ;o) Hope you have a great week ahead! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
